Brit Spaugh Zoo
Exciting things happen at Brit Spaugh Zoo. Founded in 1952, this zoo is one of Great Bend's biggest attractions. When you step foot into the zoo, you will find yourself embarking on a journey through the wildlife of all seven continents.

Animals
The zoo is home to many mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects. From elegant tigers to regal lions, the zoo shelters animals and gives visitors a chance to observe and learn about the natural world. You will be amazed by the roar of the lion which can be heard from five miles away. In the wild, this is used to claim territory and warn off intruders.

Want to feed the ducks and fish? No problem! Grab a fish food bag from the Raptor Center and head out to the pond where colossal catfish, turtles, geese, swans, and other pond critters dwell.

Aquarium
After that long walk through the zoo, take a moment to regroup and step inside the aquarium room which houses fish from all over the world. Relax and enjoy studying over the various different species of fish.

The Raptor Center
The zoo boasts one of Great Bend's most prominent attractions, The Raptor Center.
Right away, you will be astonished by a vibrant gallery featuring state-of-the art exhibits, displays, interactive learning stations, and a colorful mural featuring birds of prey. Among the exhibits and displays, you will find a depiction of an eagles nest, a raptor's eye view of the zoo, and a wing span chart to see where you measure up to various raptors.Visitors can even watch the operation of injured birds through one-way mirrors.
