Heartland Farm
Heartland Farm is a ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace and introduces you to the peace and abundance of country life. You can explore the straw bale buildings, an acoustically perfect silo, and learn about organic gardening and other sustainable practices. Hike the labyrinth, have a picnic, or watch for birds. The farm is the perfect escape for a peaceful retreat.

A herd of beautiful, inquisitive alpacas live at Heartland Farm and a visit to their barn is mandatory. Gorgeous alpaca throws, scarves, gloves, and therapeutic socks are available in the gift shop to take home for a bit of heartland comfort.

The sisters provide weekly tours and demonstrations of their organic farming methods, fabric art, harvest, and much more. Spiritual retreats are also offered. A Peace Camp for young people interested in spending a week learning about the farm, helping with the animals, and doing projects is offered during the summer.

Other earth friendly projects to learn about include rainwater catchment, solar over cooking, solar greenhouse, and solar showers.

Lodging and Food
Visitors can plan a natural retreat with a stay in a cozy rustic farmhouse or the straw bale hermitage. Nutritious organic meals are offered to lodgers and other guests. Tents and RV campers are also welcome.

The labyrinth flows from start to center and out again. Just stay on the path and it will lead you through. Many bird species can be seen in the trees that border the creek running through the pasture. Walking the labyrinth is the perfect way to relax, unwind, and spend a peaceful hour.
